The Lexus UX is a sub-compact luxury SUV — smaller and more urban-focused than the RX or GX. The compact interior makes the windshield easy to reach, but it also means the cup holder area is tighter and the gear shift can get in the way depending on what you’re trying to mount. The good news is the vents are in an excellent position, and with the right mount that’s all you really need.
This guide covers the UX 200 (2019–2022) and UX 250h (2019–present). Lexus discontinued the UX 200 after 2022, so from 2023 onward the UX 250h is the only variant. Both generations share the same basic interior layout for mounting purposes.

Mounting Locations in the UX
The windshield and center vents are the two strongest options. The cup holder works in a pinch but is somewhat constrained by the gear shift placement, which requires a mount with a longer neck to clear it and position the phone at a usable height. The dashboard is partially occupied by the infotainment display, which limits flat mounting space. Seat bolts are not easily accessible, and there is no usable CD player location.
Vent Mount
The center vents in the UX are horizontal and positioned at a good height for the driver — right in the sightline without requiring any downward glance. For active navigation use, this is the best location in the car. One thing worth knowing: the UX uses a distinctive single-knob vent control that sits on the face of each vent. Most clip-style vent mounts will clear it without issue, but take a look at your vents before ordering to confirm there’s enough slat space for the clip to attach.
The Andobil Air Vent Mount is the pick here. It attaches via a locking clip that works on horizontal and vertical slats, and the ball-and-socket joint allows full 360-degree rotation. The cradle opens to 3.75 inches wide, which covers the full range of current phones. iPhone users can opt for the Andobil MagSafe version — same mount, magnetic disc instead of cradle, snaps directly to MagSafe-compatible cases.

Windshield Mount
The UX’s compact dimensions actually work in your favor on the windshield — it’s an easy reach from the driver’s seat without needing a long extension arm. The windshield is a solid choice for navigation, hands-free calls, or anyone who prefers a more traditional mount position. The iOttie Easy One Touch works well here. Its telescoping arm can extend from 5 to 8 inches, though you likely won’t need the full extension in this smaller cabin. It also includes an adhesive dash pad if you find a usable flat spot on the dash to the right of the display.

Cup Holder Mount
The UX has a pair of cup holders in the center console, but the gear shift sits close enough that a standard cup holder mount can end up awkwardly positioned. If you go this route, look for a mount with a longer extendable neck that can clear the shift lever and tilt the phone toward the driver. It’s workable, but the vent or windshield will serve most drivers better for active navigation. The cup holder location is most practical for music control or podcasts where you’re not checking the screen while moving.

Which Location Is Right for You?
The vent is the top pick for most UX drivers — the position is ideal and the Andobil attaches cleanly to the horizontal slats. The windshield is the better choice if you prefer a more traditional mount or want the phone slightly higher in your field of view. Skip the cup holder for navigation use; it’s better suited to passive tasks where you’re not referencing the screen while driving.
