The Lexus TX 350 was introduced in late 2023. It’s a very nice, decently large vehicle with a few mounting challenges.
We have already analyzed a few Lexus SUVs including the RX 350. This SUV seems a little larger and the mounting challenges are quite similar.
A lot of the decision over a mount for a device will come down to how you plan to use it. If it’s a phone and a simple matter of connecting it to the infotainment system, and it isn’t too large, there’s a slot cut into the middle console. Stick the phone in the slot and you might be good to go. If it’s a tablet, GPS or a phone that needs to referenced while driving, read on.
Lexus TX 350 Mount Discussion
It’s a nicely sized SUV. The windshield is nice and wide but it is a bit of a reach so something with a greater length is required.
The vents are horizontal but placed just below the display console so that could create a slight challenge but we have an idea for that.
The cup holders are square but nicely located. The square shape is a direction we have seen a few manufacturers take. Fortunately there are mounts for that shape. It’s also nice to see the Lexus TX 500 using a shorter shifter so it won’t get in the way of the cup holder mount. We’ve even seen Lexus go with a dial instead of a shifter in the Lexus RZ which is a radical design change for this manufacturer.
The seat bolts are not easily accessed so avoid these types of mounts.
Sadly, there is no CD player in this SUV. Looks like an end of an era on these.
The Lexus TX 350 has a large console display and that pretty much wipes out using the dash to mount anything.
Now, let’s take a look at a few specific mounts that should work well in the Lexus TX 350.
Windshield and Vent Mount Recommendations for a Lexus TX 350
A good choice for the windshield is the iOttie Easy One Touch 5 Car Mount Phone Holder which provides an extendable rigid base combined with an expandable cradle. This is a good mount for this vehicle because unlike many similar mounts, the iOttie Easy One Touch 5 has an extension arm that expands from 5 to 8 inches.
The included cradle expands to approximately 4 inches and there’s a magnetic cord holder on the back. There are two support legs for added stability which sufficiently separate for a power cord connection.
This mount also comes with a dashboard pad which uses a unique rechargeable sticky base. Use this pad to adhere the mount to a dashboard. However, there aren’t many good dash locations due to the large display. Perhaps with the 8-inch display, this might be a better location.
The vent is an interesting location in the Lexus TX 350. The proximity just below the display requires a mount that can extend away or even below the vent location.
If you like this location, consider the Rorhxia Air Vent Mount. This mount can be used to hold almost all phone models with or without a case. The ball and socket design facilitates a 360 degree rotation and pivot. The cradle opens to accommodate phones up to a 7 inch phone. The built-in extension can be used upside down so it hangs below the vent.
Apple iPhone owners can scope out the Rorhxia MagSafe Air Vent Mount which is the same mount but with a magnetic adapter that pairs perfectly.
Other Mount Recommendations for a Lexus TX 350
Thanks to a very large center console and small gear shift, the cup holders are a good location for a phone or tablet. This location should not be used for apps such as navigation that need to be accessed while driving but make good choices for perching a small tablet for use with an app such as Spotify where it can be setup prior to driving.
While the cup holder shape is square, we are recommending a cup holder mount that has expandable wings at the bottom to firmly position this mount.
Consider the Cup Holder Mount for Tablets and Phones. This mount includes two different cradles and has an extended neck to make the mount a little higher than others. One for a phone and another for a tablet. The mount is adjustable and solidly made to easily handle the weight of your tablet. You will see a lot of mounts on the market for tablets or cell phones. This is the only car mounts that offers two different cradles, one for the phone, the other for the tablet. The tablet cradle will hold devices up to 12.9 inches but we suggest limiting it to nothing larger than an iPad Mini.
Lexus TX 350 Mounting Summary
The Lexus TX 350 has a few challenges but we found a few good locations. The windshield, vent and cup holders are good locations with the cup holder working best for a tablet. The lack of an accessible seat bolt rules out that location and that big display rules out the dash as a good location.
