The Lexus RX 350 is one of the all time best selling luxury SUV models. It’s been around for over 20 years. It’s a very nice, decently large vehicle with no mounting surprises.
The Lexus RX 350 has a relatively identical interior to the RX 500, RX 450 and RX 350L. So whatever we discuss will apply equally to all three models.
We’ve looked at a few other Lexus SUV models including the Lexus UX 250H and Lexus NX.
A lot of the decision over a mount for a device will come down to how you plan to use it. If it’s a phone and a simple matter of connecting it to the infotainment system, and it isn’t too large, there’s a slot cut into the middle console. Stick the phone in the slot and you might be ready to roll. If it’s a tablet, GPS or a phone that needs to referenced while driving, read on.
Lexus RX 350 Mount Discussion
It’s a nicely sized SUV. Most of the usual locations are fully accessible. Windshield is nice and wide but it is a bit of a reach. The vents are horizontal so most mounts should work fine. The Lexus RX 350 is one of the few vehicles to include a CD player and it’s in an excellent mounting location. The cup holders are nicely located. The seat bolts are not easily accessed so avoid these types of mounts.
Most of the Lexus RX 350 models will have the big 12-inch infotainment display and that pretty much wipes out using the dash to mount anything. I haven’t seen one with the smaller 8-inch display but if it’s located in the same location as the 12-inch, that will negate the dash as a mounting location.
Now, let’s take a look at a few specific mounts that should work well in the Lexus RX 350. The attached photo is from the interior of a 2021 model.
Windshield and Vent Mount Recommendations for a Lexus RX 350
A good choice for the windshield is the iOttie Easy One Touch 5 Car Mount Phone Holder which provides an extendable rigid base combined with an expandable cradle. This is a good mount for this vehicle because unlike many similar mounts, the iOttie Easy One Touch 5 has an extension arm that expands from 5 to 8 inches.
The included cradle expands to approximately 4 inches and there’s a magnetic cord holder on the back. There are two support legs for added stability which sufficiently separate for a power cord connection.
This mount also comes with a dashboard pad which uses a unique rechargeable sticky base. Use this pad to adhere the mount to a dashboard. However, there aren’t many good dash locations due to the large display. Perhaps with the 8-inch display, this might be a better location.
The vent is another great location in this vehicle.
If you like this location, consider the Andobil Air Vent Mount. This mount can be used to hold almost all phone models with or without a case. The ball and socket design facilitates a 360 degree rotation and pivot. The cradle opens to accommodate phones up to 3.75 inches wide. The mount uses a unique locking clip to securely attach to horizontal and vertical vents.
Apple iPhone owners can scope out the Andobil MagSafe Air Vent Mount which is the same mount but with a magnetic adapter that pairs perfectly.

Other Mount Recommendations for a Lexus RX 350
The CD player is located right in the middle of the console. It’s in a good location for mounting a phone in a landscape orientation.
How about a good CD player mount? The Apps2Car CD Slot Mount uses a knob on the bottom to secure the mount within the CD player. I prefer this mount to others in this category as it will permit a more custom and secure fitting. You don’t want the mount to rattle around inside the player. The cradle opens to almost 4 inches which is wide enough for most phones and many GPS devices.
Thanks to a very large console and small gear shift, the cup holders are a good location for a phone or tablet. This location should not be used for apps such as navigation that need to be accessed while driving but make good choices for perching a small tablet for use with an app such as Spotify where it can be setup prior to driving.
Consider the Cup Holder Mount for Tablets and Phones. This mount includes two different cradles and has an extended neck to make the mount a little higher than others. One for a phone and another for a tablet. The mount is adjustable and solidly made to easily handle the weight of your tablet. You will see a lot of mounts on the market for tablets or cell phones. This is the only car mounts that offers two different cradles, one for the phone, the other for the tablet. The tablet cradle will hold devices up to 12.9 inches but we suggest limiting it to nothing larger than an iPad Mini.
Lexus RX 350 Mounting Summary
The Lexus RX 350 is a remarkably easy vehicle to mount a device. The windshield, vent, CD player and cup holders are good locations with the cup holder working best for a tablet. The lack of an accessible seat bolt rules out that location and that huge 12-inch display negates the dash as a good location.
