The Lexus GX 460 is a very large SUV with a great looking exterior and a boxy exterior shape. Like most large SUVs, this is an easy one to find good mount options.
We have looked at a few other Lexus SUVs including the smaller Lexus RX 350 and NX 300.
Lexus GX 460 Mount Discussion
It’s a big SUV and most of the usual locations are fully accessible. Windshield is nice and wide but it is a bit of a reach. The vents are horizontal and in a perfect location for a phone. The dash is huge and is a good choice. The GX includes a CD player but using this location as a mount will be blocked by the gear shift. The cup holders are nicely located. The seat bolts are not easily accessed so avoid these types of mounts.
While there may not be many that opt to use a Garmin GPS in this vehicle, we will include that as part of our analysis. The Lexus GPS capability is in line with Waze and Google Maps. Additionally, you can use Apple CarPlay or Android Auto to mirror your phone. But there always a few that love Garmin GPS.
Now, let’s take a look at a few specific mounts that should work well in the Lexus GX 460. The attached photo is from the interior of a 2021 model.
Windshield and Vent Mount Recommendations for a Lexus GX 460
The air vents are probably my favorite choice for a phone in this vehicle. They’re at the perfect position for placing your device right at your line of site.
The vents are fairly standard and have horizontal slats which makes mounting a phone very easy. We continue to recommend the Andobil Air Vent Mount. This mount can be used to hold most phone models with or without a case. The ball and socket design facilitates a 360 degree rotation. The included cradle opens to accommodate phones up to 3.75 inches wide. The mount uses a unique locking clip to securely attach to horizontal and vertical vents.
Apple iPhone owners can scope out the Andobil MagSafe Air Vent Mount which is the same mount but with a magnetic adapter that pairs perfectly.

It’s a long reach to the windshield. Consider the iOttie Easy One Touch 5 Car Mount Phone Holder which provides an extendable rigid base combined with an expandable cradle. This is a good mount for this vehicle because unlike many similar mounts, the iOttie Easy One Touch 5 has an extension arm that expands from 5 to 8 inches.
The included cradle expands to approximately 4 inches and there’s a magnetic cord holder on the back. There are two support legs for added stability which sufficiently separate for a power cord connection.
This mount also comes with a dashboard pad which uses a unique rechargeable sticky base. Use this pad to adhere the mount to a dashboard. However, there aren’t many good dash locations due to the large display. Perhaps with the 8-inch display, this might be a better location.
Other Mount Recommendations for a Lexus GX 460
The best location for mounting a tablet in this vehicle will be the cup holder. The positioning of the cup holders means this can only be used for apps that do not need to be referenced while driving. It serves to keep your tablet off the passenger seat.

The Lexus GX 460 has several good mounting options. The windshield, dash, vent and cup holders are good locations with the cup holder working best for a tablet. The lack of an accessible seat bolt rules out that location and the CD player location will interfere with the fear shift.
