Phone and GPS Mounts for a Jaguar I-PACE

Jaguar has entered the battery operated market with the I-PACE.  The Jaguar I-PACE is a luxury car with a lot of refined interior features (and a fairly expensive price).

This isn’t the first electric vehicle we have looked at.  We also took a look at the Tesla Model Y and Lexus RZ 450e.  Unlike these models, the Jaguar I-PACE doesn’t have a TV sized monitor in the middle so finding a few good mount locations is a bit easier.

A photo of the Jaguar I-PACE interior accompanies this article.  It’s a little further reach to the windshield so an extended mount will work best.  Normal horizontal vents translates to a good mounting location.  The dash has a flat location a towards the passenger side.  No CD player.

Best Mount Locations in a Jaguar I-PACE

The windshield is one of two locations we recommend for a phone or GPS in a Jaguar I-PACE.

The iOttie Easy One Touch 5 Car Mount for SmartPhones provides an extendable base combined with an expandable cradle.  Unlike many similar mounts, the iOttie Easy One Touch 5 has an 8-inch extension feature which should be fully extended when used in a Jaguar I-PACE.  The included cradle expands by pressing the buttons on each side.  This is large enough to hold most phones.

The Jaguar I-PACE center vents are located in an excellent location for mounting a GPS or phone.  Sloped slightly upwards, be sure to use a pivoting mount to get the best view.

Consider the Andobil Air Vent Mount.  This mount can be used to hold most phone models with or without a case.  The ball and socket design facilitates a 360 degree rotation.  The included cradle opens to accommodate phones up to 3.75 inches wide.  The mount uses a unique locking clip to securely attach to horizontal and vertical vents.

Apple iPhone owners can scope out the Andobil MagSafe Air Vent Mount which is the same mount but with a magnetic adapter that pairs perfectly.

If in love with your trusty Garmin GPS, remove the cradle from this mount to expose the 17mm ball needed to fit your existing cradle.

Secondary Locations

I’m not too crazy about using the dash for mounting anything but it’s doable.  The flat portion, which is the most usable, is too far off towards the passenger.

If you still prefer the dash location, just add the iOttie Reusable Dashboard Pad for use on the dash.  This will pair nicely with the suction mount just discussed above.  It’s a temporary non adhesive accessory.  The bottom has a sticky surface and the top is smooth like a windshield.  Although no wipe is included, be sure to clean the dash area before application.  Attach the suction cup from the mount to the smooth surface on this dash disk.  When it’s time to remove the iOttie Reusable Dashboard Pad, simply lift the tab and remove.  Wash the bottom with warm soapy water and let it dry.  This recharges the sticky surface.  This dash disk is flexible and may suit some contoured dashboards well.

Summary

Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like a tablet is going to fit well in a Jaguar I-PACE.  Simply couldn’t find any good locations.

When it comes to a phone or GPS, there are two good options in a Jaguar I-PACE.  The windshield and vent make the best mount locations and the dash is an acceptable place in the event the first two are not desirable.
