Phone and GPS Mounts for a Subaru Crosstrek

The Subaru Crosstrek turned out to be a bit more difficult to find good mounting locations versus what we have previously experienced with Subaru.  While we were still able to come up with a few good suggestions, there are several places that aren’t going to work well. We previously looked at the Subaru Outback and Subaru Forester.  The Subaru Crosstrek is more difficult.  We;ll go through the most popular locations and discuss the pros and cons. By the way, you may have noticed we left out the tablet in our title as a device for mounting in a Subaru Crosstrek.  A … Read more

Phone, GPS and Tablet Mounts for a Range Rover Velar

We recently had a chance to check out a Range Rover Velar.  We will spend most of the article space on smartphone mounts for a Land Rover Velar but will also touch on mounting a Garmin GPS and a tablet. Our typical photo of the interior of the vehicle is included and that’s a fine looking one on the Land Rover Velar.  We previously analyzed the Land Rover Discovery, and figured this would be as easy to find some good mounts.  Wrong. Unlike, the Discovery, the Range Rover Velar has a lot of unexpected curves and recesses.  It’s somewhat reminiscent … Read more

Phone and GPS Mounts for a Subaru Forester

The Subaru Forester turns out to be a fairly easy vehicle to mount a smartphone or GPS.  A tablet is a bit more challenging.  It’s a well designed interior without a lot of surprises. Similar to the Subaru Outback, the Forester doesn’t have a lot of radical interior curves, uses standard shaped vents and has some decent dash space.  This will make it easy to suggest some good mounts for smartphones and a GPS.  A tablet is almost impossible to comfortably mount.  The interior is simply too small and we don’t think it’s possible to mount a tablet and be … Read more

Phone and GPS Mounts for a Toyota RAV4

It’s like the Toyota RAV4 design engineers got together with a starting objective of making it as difficult as possible to mount anything.  This is one of the more difficult vehicles to mount a phone or GPS.  Forget about mounting a tablet. Almost all of our go-to locations are impossible to use (but we still have some ideas so read on). A photo of the interior of a Toyota RAV4 accompanies this article.  Good news, it has a windshield that we can use a suction mount with.  The vents on the sides are round.  The ones in the middle are … Read more

Phone, GPS and Tablet Mounts for a Land Rover Discovery

The Land Rover Discovery, to no surprise, is a very nice luxury SUV.  Gladly, finding places to mount a phone, tablet or GPS was fairly easy.  We will spend most of the article space on smartphone mounts for a Land Rover Discovery but will also touch on mounting a Garmin GPS and a tablet. Our typical photo of the interior of the vehicle is included and that’s a mighty nice one on the Land Rover Discovery.  A respectable amount of room on the dash, a long reach to the windshield, along with traditionally shaped air vents and a useful set … Read more

Phone and GPS Mounts for an Infiniti QX50

The Infiniti QX50 is a small luxury SUV made by the luxury division of Nissan.  This is another one of those vehicles that you would think is easy to choose a mount for, but it’s not.  The compact size, placement of speakers and cup holders and contours of the dash make this more challenging. Our typical photo of the interior of the Infiniti QX50 accompanies this article.  It’s a nice interior and reminds us (not surprisingly) of the Infiniti QX60 interior.  Well, except it’s more compact.  So compact that you can forget about mounting a tablet in the Infiniti QX50, … Read more
