Phone, GPS and Tablet Mounts for a Range Rover

We’ve looked at a few models from Land Rover, but not the Range Rover.  So today, we got a chance to scope out the big (and expensive) Range Rover. Our typical photo of the interior of the vehicle is included and this might among the nicest we have seen in an SUV.  It’s big and luxurious.  We have also analyzed the Land Rover Discovery, and found this to be as easy to find good mounting locations. So looking at the interior, we notice a few things.  Nice wide dashboard, horizontal vents, windshield within easy reach.  However we also notice no … Read more

Phone and GPS Mounts for an Audi Q3

The Audi Q3 is the first model we have looked at from this manufacturer.  This is one of the smallest SUVs we have looked at.  Not wide and not long.  In fact, tall passengers in the front seat results in almost no leg room for back seat passengers. A photo of the interior of the Audi Q3 is included.  Nice looking interior with a few challenges.  Most notable is the center display which pops up from the dash.  This nullifies using the dashboard as a mount point.  Simply not enough room. The cup holders are set somewhat towards the back … Read more

Phone and GPS Mounts for a Subaru Crosstrek

The Subaru Crosstrek turned out to be a bit more difficult to find good mounting locations versus what we have previously experienced with Subaru.  While we were still able to come up with a few good suggestions, there are several places that aren’t going to work well. We previously looked at the Subaru Outback and Subaru Forester.  The Subaru Crosstrek is more difficult.  We;ll go through the most popular locations and discuss the pros and cons. By the way, you may have noticed we left out the tablet in our title as a device for mounting in a Subaru Crosstrek.  A … Read more

Phone, GPS and Tablet Mounts for a Range Rover Velar

We recently had a chance to check out a Range Rover Velar.  We will spend most of the article space on smartphone mounts for a Land Rover Velar but will also touch on mounting a Garmin GPS and a tablet. Our typical photo of the interior of the vehicle is included and that’s a fine looking one on the Land Rover Velar.  We previously analyzed the Land Rover Discovery, and figured this would be as easy to find some good mounts.  Wrong. Unlike, the Discovery, the Range Rover Velar has a lot of unexpected curves and recesses.  It’s somewhat reminiscent … Read more

Phone and GPS Mounts for a Subaru Forester

The Subaru Forester turns out to be a fairly easy vehicle to mount a smartphone or GPS.  A tablet is a bit more challenging.  It’s a well designed interior without a lot of surprises. Similar to the Subaru Outback, the Forester doesn’t have a lot of radical interior curves, uses standard shaped vents and has some decent dash space.  This will make it easy to suggest some good mounts for smartphones and a GPS.  A tablet is almost impossible to comfortably mount.  The interior is simply too small and we don’t think it’s possible to mount a tablet and be … Read more

Phone and GPS Mounts for a Toyota RAV4

It’s like the Toyota RAV4 design engineers got together with a starting objective of making it as difficult as possible to mount anything.  This is one of the more difficult vehicles to mount a phone or GPS.  Forget about mounting a tablet. Almost all of our go-to locations are impossible to use (but we still have some ideas so read on). A photo of the interior of a Toyota RAV4 accompanies this article.  Good news, it has a windshield that we can use a suction mount with.  The vents on the sides are round.  The ones in the middle are … Read more
