Phone and GPS Mounts for a Yamaha V Star Motorcycle

The Yamaha Star line of motorcycles have been around for over twenty years and are still being made.  Today, we are looking at mounts for a Yamaha V Star motorcycle. The photo that accompanies this article is of a Yamaha V Star cockpit.  That’s a mighty big looking gas tank with a handlebar in front.  It should be no surprise that we will stick with mounts for the handlebar location. We aren’t big fans of the gas tank as a mounting point because that typically involves using an adhesive or suction mount.  There is one adhesive blend that we like … Read more

Motorcycle and Car Mounts for the Garmin Zumo 396 LMT-S

It’s been awhile since seeing a new motorcycle GPS from Garmin.  The recently released Garmin Zumo 396 LMT-S introduces some new features and a redesigned exterior to differentiate it from older models and hopefully induces customers to consider replacing their older Zumo. Many of the features that make a good motorcycle GPS worthwhile remain including a glove friendly display, weatherproof design and rider friendly maps.  Free live services are included with the Garmin Smartphone Link app.  They have also (finally) included a WiFi map update.  This is a welcome addition in a world where USB connectivity is being phased out (aka … Read more

Mounts for the Harley-Davidson Ultra Limited Motorcycle

The Harley-Davidson Ultra Limited is almost as large as an SUV.  It also costs as much as an SUV.  This is a seriously large motorcycle.  You would think there’s plenty of good places to mount a phone or GPS but surprisingly not. Phone and GPS Mounts for Suzuki SV650 Motorcycles

The Suzuki SV650 has been manufactured since 1999. It’s a sporty bike that is fairly priced, and thus fairly popular. Being around for 18 years and going through several design influences, good mounting locations vary by year and customization.  One common challenge on practically all Suzuki SV650 models is the lack of a lot of handlebar space for mounting anything because there’s very little handlebar.  However, most have a very small amount of handlebar that exists directly next to the clutch assembly. So for those that have that small amount of real estate, consider a handlebar mount.  However, due to the … Read more

The Triumph Bonneville motorcycle was first made in 1959.  Triumph is now making its third generation of the Bonneville.  Today we review some smartphone, GPS and camera mount options for a Triumph Bonneville motorcycle. I recently ran into a few Triumph Bonneville owners at a local motorcycle rally in New Jersey.  A photo of one of the bikes accompanies this article.  The easiest place to mount anything is going to be the handlebar. The most popular device to mount on a motorcycle is a smartphone with a lot of new interest for action cameras such as a GoPro.  GPS units are still very … Read more

Phone, GPS and Camera Mounts for a Honda CBR1000RR Motorcycle

On a warm November day, I made a trip to the Jersey Shore.  Always looking for ideas for mount articles, I ran into a Honda CBR1000RR.  My first thought was how do you mount something to this motorcycle? Fortunately I was able to get a good look and even snap a photo of the cockpit which is attached to this article.  Turns out there are a few locations that will work well on a Honda CBR1000RR to mount a phone, GPS or camera. The reason the Honda CBR1000RR isn’t a straightforward mount project is there’s a lack of handlebar real … Read more
