Mounts and Tripods for the Nest Cam IQ

We’re impressed with the Nest Cam IQ.  It’s a high quality camera that recognizes faces.  The camera will email you when it sees someone.  That’s pretty innovative. Mount Analysis The Nest Cam IQ comes without any mounts in the box.  There’s a round weighted base which the camera is attached to.  That’s fine for those wanting to place the camera on a flat surface like a table or shelf.  If that’s where you need the camera to be, stop here, thanks for coming by. Different Ways to Mount the Wyze Base Station

The Wyze Base Station is used to connect to a Wyze Cam Outdoor.  It needs to be centrally located so that all cameras can consistently communicate.  Sometimes, that central spot isn’t the most convenient.  So, let’s discuss different ways to mount this device. Placement Dilemma For those that have multiple Wyze Outdoor Cameras, this becomes a bit of a juggling act.  Click on the Wyze Base Station under the Wyze app to see how many bars each outdoor camera is getting.  These need to be as strong as possible.  Ideally three bars. Mount Analysis We discussed mounts for the Blink XT2, Blink Outdoor and Blink Indoor Security System in the past.  … Read more

Our previous article on Blink XT2 Smart Security Camera Mounts covered some alternative possibilities for the wireless cameras.  None of that applies to this Blink Mini as the design is totally different.  Unlike other Blink cameras, this is not battery powered, it plugs into an A/C adapter.  Additionally, it connects directly to a wireless router, not through a traditional Blink sync module. Blink … Read more
