We love Otterbox Cases. Best cases made. They are available for tablets and smartphones. These cases deliver the best protection for your device but at the expense of bulk. They will definitely add weight and size to your device. It will feel bulky at first but you will quickly get used to it. One additional benefit is the phone will no longer just slide out of your pocket on its own. That is because the Otterbox has an exterior made of non slip rubber. And don’t forget the greatest benefit of all. Your phone will not break if you drop it. I have dropped my iPhone several times a week because I am such a klutz. Never broke. But what about mounts for an Otterbox Case?
As we mentioned, the Otterbox provides superior protection as the expense of size. Many car and motorcycle mounts are custom-made to contour to the size of your unprotected bare device. Like any other mount, we always suggest that you first think hard about where you would like to put it. Second, measure your device within the Otterbox. Consider not just the width and height but also the depth. Buy a secure cradle that won’t open up on its own.
So what are some examples of mounts for an Otterbox case?

This line is inexpensive and proven. The mount has a vacuum locked suction assembly attached to a pivoting arm. The cradle opens and closes at a push of a button and expands up to 3.4 inches so it will fit most phones even with a case. The phone can swivel into any orientation. The mount also comes with an adhesive disk that you can stick to the dash to turn the mount into a console mount. The suction assembly can adhere to the adhesive disk just like it would on a windshield. I have used these for a long time and can vouch for the ease of use and durability. Might be the best phone mount you can get for the price.
Consider the RAM Mounts Handlebar Rail Mount and Universal X-Grip IV Large Phone/Phablet Holder. The fit is nice and secure and it is made to be used on a motorcycle. Great part about this mounting configuration is that when you upgrade to another phone, the same mount can be used because the cradle is universal and will expand to fit what might be a larger thinner phone. Something to consider when purchasing a mount will be its durability over time.

Lastly, although this site is mostly dedicated to mounting solutions, you may have been able to tell we are big fans of Otterbox. Be aware, like all mount manufacturers, they have different lines of cases. The level of protection ranges from the ability to throw it into a brick wall to “why bother”. The Otterbox Defender series is the line that is of the “throw it into a brick wall” category and worth the money. I see too many people walking around with phones that have cracked lenses because they do not have a good case.
