Phone, Tablet and GPS Mounts for a Toyota Highlander

While walking around my local Toyota showroom, I had the opportunity to check out the Toyota Highlander.  Nice SUV with lots of mount possibilities.  Let’s review what I discovered. Toyota Highlander Mount Discussion It’s a nicely sized SUV.  The usual locations seem to be fully accessible.  Windshield is nice and wide and not too far of a reach for the driver.  The vents are horizontal so most mounts should work fine.  A bit of raised console makes this area difficult as the clearance between the dash and windshield might prove to be too short.  The cup holders aren’t the worst … Read more

Phone, GPS and Tablet Mounts for a Nissan Murano

I recently purchased a Nissan Murano.  Hooray for me.  You should not be surprised to know that one of the first things I wanted to do was mount my smartphone in my Murano.  Turns out it wasn’t as simple as it had been in other cars I have owned.  So here I am writing an article to help other Nissan Murano owners looking to mount a cell phone, tablet or GPS in their car. The Nissan Murano is a great looking car on the exterior and interior.  It’s unlike anything I ever encountered.  Not an ounce of wood on the … Read more

Phone, GPS and Tablet Mounts for a Range Rover

We’ve looked at a few models from Land Rover, but not the Range Rover.  So today, we got a chance to scope out the big (and expensive) Range Rover. Unlike, the Discovery, the Range Rover Velar has a lot of unexpected curves and recesses.  It’s … Read more

Phone, Tablet and GPS Mounts for a Ford Explorer

The Ford Explorer is a large SUV.  Ordinarily that’s good news for mounting a device.  The good spots aren’t all available in this vehicle but fortunately, we found some good spots.  Let’s take a look at what we got. Mount Analysis Our typical location for mounting a phone or GPS is the windshield.  Not much of an issue here.  We also have been liking the air vent.  There’s a few challenges but still a good location.  The cup holders are one of the few spots to mount a tablet and the Ford Explorer has a few deep ones set in … Read more

Phone and GPS Mounts for a Jaguar I-PACE

Jaguar has entered the battery operated market with the I-PACE.  The Jaguar I-PACE is a luxury car with a lot of refined interior features (and a fairly expensive price). This isn’t the first electric vehicle we have looked at.  We also took a look at the Tesla Model Y and Lexus RZ 450e.  Unlike these models, the Jaguar I-PACE doesn’t have a TV sized monitor in the middle so finding a few good mount locations is a bit easier. A photo of the Jaguar I-PACE interior accompanies this article.  It’s a little further reach to the windshield so an extended … Read more
