Golf Cart Mounts for GolfBuddy Voice GPS Rangefinders

GolfBuddy Voice on a Suction Cup MountThe GolfBuddy Voice and GolfBuddy Voice 2 are among the smallest of golf GPS rangefinders on the market.  They jam a lot of features within this small device.  In this article, we will be looking at mount options for both rangefinders.

The GolfBuddy Voice 2 is the most recent of the two rangefinders.  It displays most of what you need while playing a round of golf.  A small photo of the green is displayed with the distance to the front, center and rear of the green.  It’s not as robust as some of the more expensive golf GPS models, but it’s a lot smaller and somewhat less expensive.

Both GolfBuddy Voice models are made to attach to the golfer’s belt.  The back of the device has a belt clip.  The dimensions of the GolfBuddy Voice 2 are 1.75 x 1.78 x .49 inches.  While I’m amazed at the small size, I’m equally amazed at the inconvenience of the mounting method.  I suppose they didn’t have much of a choice.

I always talk about how difficult it is to swing a golf club with a GPS attached to your belt.  I’m bad enough at the game.  Adding something to my belt which will get in the way after I swing the club makes it that much harder.  It’s equally as difficult to see this while it’s attached to your belt so you will need to continually take it off, look at the GolfBuddy Voice display, then put it back on.  Sure, it has audio, but you need to see the display.

So we need to find a different place to put this.  Ideally, somewhere secure where it can be seen and heard.  Like somewhere on the golf cart or walking cart.

Let’s look at some mounts for the GolfBuddy Voice and GolfBuddy Voice 2.

GolfBuddy themselves realized there were some users of their golf GPS devices that may want to attach these somewhere else.  Smart move.  The GolfBuddy Universal Clip Cart Mount Accessory is made to fit all of their GPS models including the Voice and Voice 2.  The mount has a notched attachment that the GolfBuddy Voice models will over, just like it does on a belt.  This is a mount that is made to fit the handlebar of a walking cart or the support bar on an electric cart.  There is a strap that is easy to attach and detach to whatever you are mounting this to.

The GolfBuddy Voice2 Retractable Clip Accessory is made to fit the GolfBuddy Voice 2 only.  It clips to a golf bag.  There is a retractable 26 inch cord that attaches to the Golf Buddy Voice2.  This allows you to pull the GPS towards you so that it can be more easily seen.  A very convenient idea.

Did I mention the GolfBuddy Voice was small?  Real small.  So small that most mounts with a cradle will not fit.  Fortunately, the Bracketron Golf Cart Cup Holder Mount includes an expandable cradle that closes as small as 1.5 inches and will grip the GolfBuddy Voice from the sides.  The bottom has an expandable base that can be made wider to contour to the size of the cup holder by twisting the top of the base.  If you have a spare cup holder in your electric golf cart, these are great.  You can also use these in your car as the cradle opens to 4.5 inches to grip most smartphones too.

Any of these three mounts will help get your GolfBuddy Voice or Voice 2 off of your belt.  So much for using the GPS on your belt as the excuse fit hitting it (again) into the lake.
