Car and Motorcycle Mounts for the LG G6 Smartphone

I’m beginning to think I should have shopped around some more for my latest Android smartphone.  The LG G6 is a big impressive phone that currently sells for about the same as my Samsung Galaxy S7 with better features and doesn’t have the annoying beveled edge. The LG G6 has a lot to talk about beyond the size (which is big).  The camera features dual rear 13 megapixel cameras that provide a 125 degree wide-angle view.  The 5.7 inch display has an 80% body to screen ratio and a 2880 x 1440 display.  An IP68 waterproof rating means you can get it wet and not have … Read more

Car and Motorcycle Mounts for the LG V20 Smartphone

My what a big phone you have!  The LG V20 was recently introduced with some excellent features that rival the other major manufacturers Android 7 phones. It’s a big phone.  Sporting a large 5.7″ diagonal screen, this phone measures 6.29 x 3.07 x 0.30 inches (159.7 x 78.1 x 7.6 mm).  These are the key measurements for selecting your mount.  Mounts with custom cradles for a different phone are unlikely to fit the LG V20.  For those that have a universal mount, hopefully it opens wide enough to hold the LG V20 without a problem. Some universal mounts offer options to upgrade your … Read more

Phone and GPS Mounts for Suzuki SV650 Motorcycles

The Suzuki SV650 has been manufactured since 1999. It’s a sporty bike that is fairly priced, and thus fairly popular. Being around for 18 years and going through several design influences, good mounting locations vary by year and customization.  One common challenge on practically all Suzuki SV650 models is the lack of a lot of handlebar space for mounting anything because there’s very little handlebar.  However, most have a very small amount of handlebar that exists directly next to the clutch assembly. So for those that have that small amount of real estate, consider a handlebar mount.  However, due to the … Read more

Car and Motorcycle Mounts for the Huawei Mate 9

This is the first article on our site about a phone from Huawei and it’s a fairly impressive one at that.  The Huawei Mate 9 was introduced by the company in September 2016. Very impressive specs that rival (and surpass) some of the best out there.  An impressive 20 MP rear camera and 8 MP front camera with 64GB of memory.  That’s impressive for the price. To get ready for the mount discussion, lets check the dimensions of the phone.  The Huawei Mate 9 sports a 5.9 inch diagonal display so it’s a bit larger than most smartphones.  The Huawei Mate … Read more

Car and Motorcycle Mounts for the Google Pixel and Pixel XL

So now Google makes a phone?  Sure.  Why not.  The Google Pixel and its big brother the Google Pixel XL hit the market in October of 2016.  It’s gotten fairly good reviews too.  With all the Samsung issues of late, this may not be a bad alternative for Android fans.  For iOS fans in love with Siri, Google Assistant might be smarter than her.  It’s a nice looking phone with a great camera. When it comes to mounting, it’s important to know the dimensions of these devices.  The Google Pixel checks in with a 5.0 inch diagonal screen and is 5.60 inches … Read more

Mounts for a Harley-Davidson Electra Glide Ultra Classic Motorcycle

I recently took a look at a  Harley-Davidson Electra Glide Ultra Classic motorcycle while visiting my local Harley showroom here in New Jersey.  I should have taken a photo of the two-up seat because that’s as close to a living room as I have seen on a motorcycle. The photo that accompanies this article is of a Harley-Davidson Electra Glide Ultra Classic cockpit.  There are two excellent locations for mounting a device in the handlebar and clutch.  That’s typical for many Harley models.  While I suppose we could also go with a gas tank mount, I think it would look awkward so … Read more
