Phone, GPS and Tablet Mounts for a Ford Edge

The Ford Edge has a very large interior and that normally leads to almost any mount fitting without a problem.  However, due to some unique design attributes, it’s not that simple.  As a result, some mounting locations aren’t going to work well. A photo of the interior of a Ford Edge accompanies this article.  A few things to notice are an expansive dash, vertical vents and cup holders that are set back a bit. It’s a far reach to the windshield on the Ford Edge but a good suction mount is probably the best place to put a phone or … Read more

Phone, GPS and Tablet Mounts for a Subaru Outback

In terms of the mounting difficulty scale, the Subaru Outback checks in with a 5 on a scale of one to ten.  Our traditional recommendations work well.  The mounts that are always a little tricky won’t work well.  So, all in all, not a lot of surprises. We always try to include a photo of the interior with vehicle specific articles and we have done so with the Subaru Outback.  It’s a fairly conventional design.  Unlike the curviest SUV on the planet being a Nissan Murano, this is standard stuff. The most popular location for a smartphone or GPS continues … Read more

Phone, GPS and Tablet Mounts for a Nissan Sentra

A recent oil change pilgrimage to my local Nissan dealer left some time to check out the showroom.  One of the cars I was able to get a close look at was the Nissan Sentra.  Like practically any model, there are some places that work well for mounting a device and a few that don’t work too well. As always, a photo of the interior is attached to this article.  There are a few interesting design characteristics.  This is the first car I have seen where the vents are concave.  That’s right, they turn inwards. On a smaller car, the windshield … Read more

Phone, Tablet and GPS Mounts for a Nissan Pathfinder

Whenever it’s time for maintenance on one of my cars, I give myself some extra time to go through the showroom to check out the cars.  Of course, I’m not just looking at my next car but also how to mount a device.  Today, I had the opportunity to scope out a Nissan Pathfinder. I used to own one of these 20 years ago.  It’s changed a lot.  A Nissan Pathfinder is huge.  Much larger than twenty years ago.  It’s so large that I couldn’t do a head on photo of the dash and capture the entire view.  I had … Read more

Phone, GPS and Tablet Mounts for a Jeep Wrangler

Jeep Wrangler.  Rugged.  Drives through anything.  People that have them usually love them.  But when it comes to mounts, this is a bit of a challenge. I guess that comes as no surprise.  Previous experiences with the Jeep Renegade and Jeep Compass have shown that finding good mount spots in Jeeps aren’t easy.  Several of the traditional and favorite spots for mounting a smartphone, GPS or tablet aren’t going to work well in a Jeep Wrangler.  Interestingly enough, we did find a some mounts that aren’t available in other Jeep models. First let get places that won’t work out of … Read more

Phone and GPS Mounts for a Nissan Rogue

It was time for maintenance on my new Nissan so that gave me some time to check the showroom at the dealership.  I wanted to take a close look at the Nissan Rogue.  It’s one of Nissan’s best sellers and gets great reviews.  The outside looks very similar to my Nissan Murano.  However the interior is more conventional.  Perhaps a little more compact.  Certainly not as many bazaar curves and slopes as the Murano.  That’s good news from a mounting perspective.  Lots of different places will work well in a Nissan Rogue but there were a few mounts and holders that … Read more
