Phone, GPS and Tablet Mounts for a Mercedes-Benz GLK350

Mercedes-Benz GLK350 InteriorI was able to get a look inside a Mercedes-Benz GLK350 the other day.  I instantly snap into MountGuys Labs mode to figure out what mounts will work.

Mount Analysis

A photo of the interior of a Mercedes-Benz GLK350 accompanies this article.  It’s a fairly compact interior and finding good mounting locations was unexpectedly difficult.

Negative on a car seat bolt mount for the Mercedes-Benz GLK350.  The seat bolt isn’t easily accessed.  While you can certainly use the option to bolt it directly to the floor board, most are not going to want to drill holes into their Mercedes-Benz GLK350 floor, so let’s move on.

I’m not liking the location of the CD Player on the Mercedes-Benz GLK350 so I will recommend against a CD player mount.  Using a mount in this location will block your entire control panel.  Additionally, the location of the CD player is too low to be of genuine use.

My first choice for phone mounts goes to the windshield.  Nothing freakish about the windshield slope.  Another great location is going to be the air vents.

Windshield Mount Recommendations

My recommendation for the Mercedes-Benz GLK350 windshield mount is the Arkon MegaGrip Suction Cup Windshield and Dash Mount.  The suction mount features a vacuum locked suction assembly attached to a pivoting arm.  The phone can swivel into any orientation.  The mount also comes with an adhesive disk that you can stick to the dash to turn the mount into a console mount.  The suction assembly can adhere to the adhesive disk just like it would on a windshield.  This is a very reliable mount and I can vouch for it based upon my years of personal use.

The same mount but for a Garmin GPS is the Arkon Windshield Dash Garmin Nuvi Suction Mount.  I have recommended this one over the many years it has been available and have used it myself as well.  It’s an excellent mount that comes with a 2-year warranty.  It’s more rugged and longer than the Garmin mount you received in the box.  Like the prior mount, this is a longer reach to the windshield so set it before the drive.

Other Mount Recommendations

The Mercedes-Benz GLK350 has excellent square flush vents.  Perfect for mounting a phone.  The vent mount to the middle below the display is an excellent location.  Easy to see and simple to install on the Mercedes-Benz GLK350 vents.

If selecting this mounting location, consider the Andobil Air Vent Mount.  This mount can be used to hold most phone models with or without a case.  The ball and socket design facilitates a 360 degree rotation.  The included cradle opens to accommodate phones up to 3.75 inches wide.  The mount uses a unique locking clip to securely attach to horizontal and vertical vents.

Apple iPhone owners can scope out the Andobil MagSafe Air Vent Mount which is the same mount but with a magnetic adapter that pairs perfectly.

Read our Andobil car air vent review for a lot more information.

A cup holder mount is the only way to place a larger tablet in a Mercedes-Benz GLK350.  The Arkon Car Cup Holder Mount for Tablets is a good choice and fits large tablets all the way up to an Apple iPad Pro.  This cup holder mount features a ball and socket design to allow adjustment and it swivels into any orientation.  The cup holder mount fits up to 3.5 inches diameter so it will fit the Mercedes-Benz GLK350 just fine.

The Mercedes-Benz GLK350 is moderately difficult to find good mounting locations, but we named a few.  Avoid the CD player and seat bolt.  Locations like the vent, windshield and cup holder are preferred.
