Garmin Nuvi 2595LMT, 2595LT and 2595LM Motorcycle and Car Mounts

Garmin Nuvi 2595LMT, 2595LT and 2595LM Motorcycle and Car MountsThis line of GPS models was introduced by Garmin in 2012.  The 2595 line of devices were introduced as an update to Garmin’s extremely successful 2555 lineup.  The difference between the two is that the 2595 has Bluetooth and voice recognition.  Nice features that result on the driver not having to manually interface with the GPS.  Devices like the Garmin Nuvi 2595LMT with an LMT or LM after the number have a lifetime map subscription and those that have an LT or LMT have a lifetime traffic subscription.  As far as I can tell though, only the 2595LMT was available in the US and Canada where the 2595LM was available only outside North America.  In this article, when we mention a mount for the Garmin Nuvi 2595LMT, it will also fit the 2595LM and 2595LT models.

Speaking of traffic,  if you have the Garmin Nuvi 2595LMT, don’t lose the cable.  Your traffic subscription is tied to the actual cable itself.  If you lose your cable, you will need to replace with a very expensive traffic charger.  A plain car charger will not provide you with traffic, you need to buy the model with traffic integrated.

The dimensions for the Garmin Nuvi 2595LMT models are quite similar to the older 2555LMT and in fact many of the mounts made for one will fit the other.  RAM Mounts, which is our typical recommendation for motorcycle mounts made a cradle specifically for the Garmin Nuvi 2595LMT.  More about that when we discuss motorcycle mounts.

Let’s look at some mount options.  Like every other Nuvi that came before it, the Garmin Nuvi 2595LMT uses a design which incorporates a custom cradle with a socket on the back.  This cradle fits over a 17mm ball which is part of the mount.  There is a custom cradle that snaps over the top and bottom of the Nuvi.  You can remove that cradle by simply pulling it off the ball.  That allows use of a lot of alternative mounting solutions.

The mount that is provided with this line of GPS is the Garmin Vehicle Suction Cup Mount.  The mounting base is in the photo that accompanies this article.  This includes the same mounting base that Garmin has used for over ten years.  Garmin includes a custom holder for the Garmin Nuvi 2595LMT as well as the other models listed in this article.  Garmin also includes an adhesive disk for those that wish to use it on the dashboard.  If you would rather not put adhesive on your dash, you could use this cradle with Garmin’s highly regarded bean bag mount which we discussed in a prior article.

How about some alternative locations and mounts?  Garmin took a long time to come out with a vent mount.  Finally coming out with a Garmin Car Air Vent Mount of their own, Garmin’s entry is a very well made mount.  Unlike many of their competitors, Garmin saw the need for a vent mount with a clamp on the back if it.  This means these mounts will fit horizontal and vertical vents.

We mentioned this one earlier in the article.  On the motorcycle, the best manufacturer from our experience is RAM Mounts.  RAM manufactures a cradle specific to the Garmin Nuvi 2595LMT.  The RAM Holder for Garmin Nuvi 2595LMT 2595LM and 2595LT GPS fits these devices as it’s custom-made for the shape of this model.  They snap into the custom cradle for a very secure hold.  Couple these holders with the RAM Motorcycle Handlebar Mount to complete your configuration.  The mount is made of metal and has a ball and socket connection at the base and cradle.  The arm is three inches tall.  A lifetime warranty from the manufacturer is included with these components.
